Part A: Enabling Accessibility in Maternity Services for parents with a disability
This one-hour webinar addresses the challenges that health providers, and especially midwives experience in ensuring maternity services and their care is provided in an accessible manner. Concepts around accessibility and inclusion are presented along with strategies, to assist providers ensure their care meets the needs of parents with disabilities.
This session will enable participants to:
- Understand concepts of accessibility within a disability inclusion framework.
- Understand how accessibility impacts on birth and parenting outcomes.
- Have knowledge of a range of skills that can be used to ensure their care as a maternity provider meets the accessibility needs of these parents.
- Aimed at midwives, nurses, and other health providers who may provide care for people with a disability from early pregnancy into parenting.
