This education introduces participants to the barriers that mothers with ID face, from
the perspectives of women with ID. Four case studies are presented with discussion
on the challenges that these mothers face as they interact with maternity care
providers. Women’s experiences are placed within a human rights context and the
opportunity to live a contemporary life.
